An act of kindness

The other day Larry and I had this important business meeting at our Brooklyn branch and as we just landed at the airport we realized we were already running late. We decided to take JFK car service straight from airport to our office. There came a luxury limo cruising across the entrance and within moments we were well on our way.

It was then Larry realized he forgot to collect his luggage while getting into the limo. Driver had not noticed too and we were in middle of mid day traffic. If we had to turn around we sure cannot show up to meeting on time. This is where the driver came up with an idea and it actually worked. He immediately spotted another colleague of his car service company on the way, called him and had Larry driven to the airport while I was on the way to office.

I reached office and had just the time required to set up things ready for the meeting. Meanwhile Larry collected his luggage from Airport Security Personnel and reached office late by 15 mins. Still he showed up. Thanks to the cognizant Limo Driver! Such acts of kindness from strangers saves many of our days consciously or unconsciously.

Midtown Madness

Midtown Madness Cars again yet with something different! Imagine yourself in a car amidst a crowded street full of people and other cars around honking their horns into your ears. It is exactly when you get really mad and would want to cruise around with madness.

This is exactly the game for that kind of madness and is truly well built. The madness factor is what makes this game special and has made popular among all sorts of players. While the game supports normal racing modes, its specialty still remains in its mad drives around the city hitting other cars and taking unusual roads. The game has a checkpoint mode too just like our other usual car games. However, all of these modes still has the madness factor to it and shall keep you busy around the roads.

Weather control options is another amazing feature, and believe me it does work for real unlike other games which claim to simulate weather, but never really do. Traffic control, Cop control are some of the other customization features to play around. There are quite a few cars to choose from, but not an extensive list. You find yourself exhausted with car options soon which is the only area this game find itself tough to move up the list. So get Midtown Madness today and get MAD. Remember, this is just for the game. On the roads, drive safe with your seat belts on!

Demolition Racer

Demolition Racer is not just another car racing game. It is much more when it has demolition as a prefix. The game is simple with descent graphics to provide a descent racing experience. But what makes it interesting is the fact that you got to watch your back for damages caused by your wild enemies in the game around. Yes! It is fun that way.

There are more than one mode in the game like a campaign, race and missions. I loved the campaign wherein I started with a car amidst 20 other cards in an open ground like a baseball field. They all go crashing over and over again until they all burn out. It is with your talent you stay away from wild drivers and manage to save your car while scoring points in regular intervals. Besides the campaign, the race mode is just like a normal race, but with a flavor of demolition. Racers care more about saving their cars in addition to racing first.

The game features multiple cars in different categories, customization options to car and other usual settings. The best part of this game is its simplicity unlike other games with high graphics, but at the end of the day is not being played a lot! Try Demolition racers today and do let us know your thoughts. Go Demolishing! Go Racing!

NFS Pro Street

Simply put,Pro Streetis a big let down in the NFS series. After creating much expectation with successful games like Most Wanted and Carbon EA Sports fails to carry on the momentum.

The gameplay is monotonous and quite boring. The difficulty is mediocre and it makes the gamers to get disappointed with all their expectations. There are no cut scenes and it kind of feels isolated from the usual NFS story line. However the major set back is the absence of cops which removes all the fun. There is no concept of Bounty and the game is just uncontrolled street driving. The races are normal and the cars are almost the same as the previous versions.

The only good thing in the game is sound and graphics. Despite the disappointment the one need to accept the fact that the graphics is too cool and sound tracks would match the mood of the gamer. The added feature is that almost all the kits can be autosculpted.  The speed race is nothing but the same old sprint race with only the name being changed. The drag race is quite different though it becomes quite repetitive after few hours of gameplay. Thanks to the repeated requests from the NFS fans, finally the drift is back on NFS. The scoring is based on the length, angle and the speed of the drift. When other races get bored the gamer can have a little fun drifting out there.

The higher system requirements, too much of advertising in the game world, the unrealistic gameplay and the absence of cops have lead to the downfall of this version. . The street game has nothing in common to never cracking street racing and the absence of cops makes it childish. With stiff competition from other game developers it is quite unbelievable EA sports have come up with such a below average product.

GTR 2 won the best racing game of the year 2006 by IGN.
